BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's soccer team has been picked to finish second in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) standings as the 2025 MASCAC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll was released today by conference director of media relations, Emily Loux.
The two-time defending regular season champion Bears received 59 points in the poll including four first-place votes. Salem State University paced the field with 61 points and four first-place votes, while defending MASCAC Tournament champion Westfield State University rounds out the top three teams with 53 points and a first-place vote.
Under the guidance of head coach Brendan Adams (24th Year), the BSU men's soccer team opens the 2025 campaign on Friday, August 29th as the Bears travel to Johnson & Wales University for a six o'clock game with the Wildcats.
The Bears will open MASCAC play at home against Anna Maria College on Saturday, September 6th at noon.
Returning All-MASCAC selections Filippo Mucci (Sr., F, Vineyard Haven, Mass.), Gavin Norton (Sr., D, Rockland, Mass.), Hector Bucio (Jr., D, North Easton, Mass.) and Nicholas Ribeiro (Jr., M, Bellingham, Mass.) will help lead the Bears in 2025.
The BSU men's soccer team posted a 10-5-3 record in 2024 including a 6-1 conference mark as the Bears' captured the MASCAC regular season title for the sixth time in program history.
The 2025 Bears reported for for preseason camp last Friday (Aug. 15) and hit the practice field for the first time on Saturday.
