BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Two members of the Bridgewater State University football program have been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District® One Division III Football Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Earning the honor from Bridgewater State are senior kicker Joey Naso and junior strong safety Lucas Lambert. Naso is making his third straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Football Team while Lambert is a two-time recipient of the accolade.
Naso and Lambert are among 16 student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to be named to the 2025 Academic All-District® One Division III Football Team.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 90% of his team's contests for the 2025 season or started in 66% of the games.
A native of Hopewell Junction, New York, Naso is majoring in marketing and sports a 3.84 GPA. In 38 games over four seasons with the Bears, Naso converted 136 of 143 point after touchdowns and went 14-for-20 on field goal attempts. He wraps up his career as the Bears' all-time leader in made PATs, PAT percentage (.951) and points by a kicker (178). He also ranks 15th among the Bears' all-time scoring leaders.
Lambert calls Oxford, Massachusetts home and checks in with a 3.75 GPA while majoring in management. In 20 games over the past two seasons, Lambert has recorded 61 tackles (43 solo) to go along with a forced fumble, three interceptions and six pass breakups.
Naso and Lambert helped the BSU football team post a 5-5 record in 2024 including a 5-4 conference mark.
