BOSTON, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate student Serenity Sands (East Bridgewater, Mass.) took part in the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships Friday afternoon.
Sands finished tied for 15th with Kelley Mikelson of the University of New Hampshire at the Reggie Lewis Center.
The meet includes athletes from all three divisions in New England.
Sands had a jump of 4 feet, 11 and 3/4 inches in an event won by Macy Dailey of the University of Rhode Island.
Sands is a two-time NCAA Division III first team All-America high jumper, finishing fourth in 2024 and eighth in 2025 at the indoor meets. She also made the second team last spring by finishing 13th.
She is the BSU indoor record-holder in the high jump (5 feet, 8 and 1/2 inches).
Sands is scheduled to take part in the Tufts University at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Sands was the lone BSU women's track & field athlete competing in the two-day NEICAAA Championships.
