Volleyball Swept at Wheaton Tri-Match

NORTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at a tri-match hosted by Wheaton College on Saturday.

The Bears lost to the host Lyons by a 3-0 margin (25-15, 25-22, 25-12) and fell to Gordon College by a 3-0 score (25-23, 25-14, 25-18).

Junior libero Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) tallied 14 digs and four aces in the setback to Wheaton, while junior setter Elexi Miskiv (Centerville, Mass.) notched 11 assists and nine digs and junior outside hitter Kayla Baril (Seekonk, Mass.) recorded six kills, six digs and an assisted block.

Sophomore middle blocker Sarah Gibbons (Quincy, Mass.) paced the Bears in the loss to Gordon with five kills and a solo block, while junior setter Alyssa Kelley (Mansfield, Mass.) registered ten assists, four digs and a kill. Tyros checked in with 20 digs, three assists, an ace and a kill.

The Bears are off until next Saturday when they travel to Westfield State University for an 11:00 AM MASCAC match with the Owls.
