BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fifth straight week and sixth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Tess Miller has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
A native of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, Miller ran a leg on a pair of MASCAC Champion relay squads at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Indoor Track & Field Championship held this past weekend at the University of Southern Maine.
Miller teamed with sophomore Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.), and seniors Amanda Lane (Abington, Mass.) and Traci Perry (Middleboro, Mass.) to post a time of 1:47.69 in the 4x200-meter relay. The same foursome recorded a time of 4:07.51 in the 4x400 which was also the top time in the New England Alliance results.
Miller added a second place showing among MASCAC runners in the 600-meter run with a career-best time of 1:39.63.
The indoor season continues for the BSU women's track & field team this coming weekend as the Bears will compete at the Division III New England Championships hosted by MIT.
Miller has qualified for DIII New Englands in the 400, the 600 and both the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
