WORCESTER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) and sophomore Patricia Healion (Medford, Mass.) placed eighth and 17th, respectively, in the heptathlon during the second and final day of the Holy Cross Multi-Meet on Thursday.
Richner recorded an overall score of 3,857 points. During today's events, she tallied 540 points in the long jump (16'2.25"/4.93m) and 486 points in the 800-meter run (2:47.85). She did not score in the javelin.
On Wednesday, Richner posted a score of 795 points in the high jump (5'5"/1.65m), 773 points in the 100-meter hurdles (15.53), 715 points in the 200-meter dash (26.95) and 548 points in the shot put (33'8.75"/10.28m).
Sophomore Patricia Healion (Medford, Mass.), competing in her first heptathlon, finished in 17th place with 3,244 points. During today's events, Healion recorded a score of 630 points in the 800-meter run (2:35.09), 446 points in the long jump (15'/4.57m) and 172 points in the javelin (44'10"/13.66m).
On Wednesday, Healion notched a score of 588 points in the high jump (4'9.75"/1.47m), 582 points in the 200 (28.63), 440 points in the hurdles (18.48) and 386 points in the shot put (25'6.75"/7.79m).
