BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Molly Rouillard has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. Rouillard shares the weekly honor along with Worcester State senior Briana Wise.
A native of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Rouillard eclipsed her own school mark in the 10,000-meter run to lead the Bears at the 2013 New England Division III Track & Field Championships held at Colby College this past weekend.
Rouillard recorded a time of 35:49.99 to finished second in the event and earn All-New England Division III honors. She broke her previous mark of 36:19.51 set a year ago.
Rouillard currently ranks seventh in all of Division III in the 10,000 and eighth in the 1,500-meter run. The top 22 times in each event qualify for the NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Rouillard advanced to the NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championships back in the fall and placed 50th at the meet. She also competed in the one-mile run at the NCAA Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships in March and earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish.
Last season, Rouillard qualified in the 10,000 at the NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships and finished 12th.
