CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior Michael McPherson (Mansfield, Mass.) broke his own school mark in the shot put and earned All-New England honors to lead the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track and field team at the New England Division III Championships hosted by MIT.

Bridgewater posted a 16th place finish in the team standings with 18 points.  The top eight finishers in each event earned All-New England honors.

McPherson posted a distance of 52 feet, 11 inches to finish third at the meet as he eclipsed his previous standard of 52 feet, five inches set earlier this season.
