2013 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District One NCAA Division III Men's At-Large Team (PDF)
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State
University senior swimmer Sullivan Cohen has been
named by the College Sports Information Directors of America
(CoSIDA) to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District One NCAA
Division III Men’s At-Large Team. Cohen now moves on to
the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.
Cohen, who hails from Bridgewater, Massachusetts, graduated Summa
Cum Laude this past weekend with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Sociology with a concentration in Global Studies and a minor in
Economics . He wrapped up a brilliant academic career at BSU
with a perfect 4.0 grade point average as he was a three-time
Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Winter
All-Academic Team selection.
In the pool, Sullivan qualified for the 2013 New England
Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division
II/III Championships in five events this past season, the 50 and
100 butterfly as well as the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke. He
and his teammates were also honored by NEISDA with the Steve Looke
Sportsmanship Award.
Cohen has volunteered with organizations such as Friends and
Mentors for Change, the BSU chapter of Free the Children and the
BSU Social Justice League. He has also participated in many
other events and organizations which educate and raise awareness
about social issues.
During his time at Bridgewater State, Sullivan was also a member
of the Bridgewater State Task Force to End Homelessness.
Through the task force, BSU students assisted local service
providers in the annual Point-In-Time count which tabulated the
local number of homeless persons in shelters and on the streets at
a single point in time.
