Coach Brendan Adams is entering his tenth season as the head coach of the Bridgewater State men's soccer program.  Coach Adams was promoted to the head coaching position prior to the 2002 season after serving as as an assistant coach on the staff in 2001.  Brendan was also a women's soccer assistant at BSU from 1996 to 1997.

In 2003, in just his second season as head coach, Adams directed the men's team to the program's first MASCAC regular season title since 1994. For his team's performance, he was named the MASCAC Coach of the Year.  The following year, he guided his squad to a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament, the program's first NCAA bid since the 1990 season. The Bears advanced to the second round of the NCAAs before ending the season with a record of 12-7-2.  The 2004 Bears, however, picked up their first ever NCAA tournament victory and won the MASCAC Tournament championship for the first time in school history.

In 2007, the Bears posted a record of 8-11-2 and earned a spot in the MASCAC Tournament for the seventh straight season.  Seeded fourth in the tournament, BSU went on the road to knock off Framingham State in the semifinals and Salem State in the championship game as the Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years.

In 2009, Brendan was again named MASCAC Coach of the Year as the Bears won the MASCAC regular season title with a 6-0-1 conference mark.  The 2010 squad posted a record of 13-6 and advanced to the conference tournament for the tenth straight year.  The 13 wins marked the highest single-season win total since 1994.

Through 2010, Brendan's coaching record at BSU stands at 87-65-15 (.556), with an impressive 41-17-5 (.690) mark in conference matches. He became the men's soccer program's all-time winningest coach in 2008 as he surpassed Luis Reis who won 56 games from 1992 to 1996.

A 1996 graduate of Stonehill College, Adams received his Masters Degree in Physical Education from Springfield College in 2001. He also holds a National Diploma from the NSCAA. A native of Sherborn, Massachusetts, Brendan is currently the Night and Weekend Facilities Manager in the Adrian Tinsley Center, BSU's state-of-the-art athletic facility, and teaches activity classes in the Movement Arts Department.
