Tia Pydynkowski was named the head coach of the BSU field hockey program in February of 2014. Coach Pydynkowski comes to Bridgewater State after four years on the coaching staff at Salve Regina University where she served as an assistant coach for three seasons and the interim head coach in the fall of 2013. During her tenure at Salve, the Seahawks improved from a four-win season in 2010 to eight-win campaigns in both 2012 and 2013.
Pydynkowski is a 2010 graduate of Bryant University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in Business Administration and Marketing. She competed for four seasons on the Bulldogs’ field hockey team from 2006 to 2009 including the transition year of 2008 when the school moved from Division II up to Division I. Tia appeared in 66 games for the Bulldogs and recorded four goals and a pair of assists.
Tia spent time as a field hockey official for the Seacoast United Field Hockey Club from 2003 to 2007, as well as a coach and counselor at the Warriors to Be Summer Camp from 2004 to 2007. She was also an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut Elite Field Hockey Camp in 2008 and 2009.
During her tenure at BSU, Pydynkowski has coached six Little East All-Conference players.
Tia also coaches for HTC (Hear the Cheers), a club team that is based out of Connecticut and also has a site in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
A resident of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Tia is presently the Director of Customer Service and Marketing for Glynn Electric, Inc. out of Plymouth.
