BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, the Bridgewater State University starting offensive line has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week. The o-line was honored for its performance in the Bears' 44-28 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) win over UMass Dartmouth on Homecoming Saturday.
Senior left tackle Niccolas Falconeiri (Middleboro, Mass.), junior left guard Austin White (North Attleboro, Mass.) senior center Michael Casey (Milford, Mass.), junior right guard Tyilin Landrum (Garland, Texas) and senior right tackle Zachary Tillson (Plymouth, Mass.) paved the way for season-highs in points (44), total offense (543), passing yards (356) and first downs (31) in the victory over the Corsairs.
The 356 passing yards set a single-game program record and the Bears' six touchdowns in the game all came on the ground.
Thanks in part to the outstanding play of the offensive line, junior running back Aidan Silva (Swansea, Mass.) came off the bench to rush for a career-high 116 yards and two touchdowns.
The line also provided outstanding protection for junior quarterback Stefano D'Emilia (Bridgewater, Mass.) and freshman quarterback Brad Thiltgen (Cumming, Georgia). D'Emilia completed 19 of 23 pass attempts for 292 yards and rushed for a touchdown, while Thiltgen threw for another 64 yards and also ran for a score.
Earlier this season, the Bears' offensive line, featuring starters Falconeiri, White, Casey, Tillson and junior right guard Nicholas Spinale (Chelmsford, Mass.), also earned the honor for its performance in a 30-29 season-opening win over Buffalo State.
The BSU football team is currently 5-2 on the season and 4-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Western Connecticut State University on Saturday for a six o'clock game with the Colonials (6-0, 4-0 MASCAC).
