Cheerleaders Place Second at National Championships
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- This past weekend the Bridgewater State College Cheerleaders placed second in the nation at the National Cheerleading Association's Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships.
The event was held from April 8th to April 12th at the the Bandshell, the Ocean Center and the Peabody Auditoriumi n Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Bears, who competed in the All Girl Cheerleading Division III level, broke every BSC cheer record including highest finish and highest score. The cheerleaders hit a solid routine scoring an 8.902, just 0.33 points behind first place UMass Dartmouth. The score was also the second highest out of every New England college.
In previous years the Bears have placed seventh and eighth in the nation with a record high score of 8.325. This year's record breaking finish finally put Bridgewater State College Cheerleading on the map!
